La Nuit dels Museus

Gran Hotel Barcino joins its new edition

tree_section

This Saturday, Gran Hotel Barcino 4*S took part in a new edition of “La Nuit dels Museus”, one of the most special cultural events of the year in Barcelona.

The event, which every year opens the doors of museums, historical spaces and unique buildings across the city during the evening, once again brought together thousands of people eager to discover another side of Barcelona: more cultural, more relaxed and much more connected to its history. And this year, Gran Hotel Barcino wanted to be part of it.

Sold-out tickets to discover ancient Barcino

The visits scheduled for the day reached full capacity days before the event, confirming the enormous interest generated by the archaeological site integrated within the hotel following its recent restoration.

Throughout the evening, visitors were able to explore the archaeological remains discovered during the building’s expansion works and closely discover a very specific part of ancient Roman Barcino that normally remains hidden beneath the Gothic Quarter.

Many visitors were coming to the hotel for the first time. Others were already familiar with the story behind the discovery. But almost all of them shared the same feeling upon entering: the surprise of finding a space like this inside a hotel in the historic centre of Barcelona.

A different way to experience the city’s heritage

Beyond the visit itself, the day left something especially beautiful: seeing how a space usually designed for stays and relaxation transformed for a few hours into a cultural meeting point within the city.

History, architecture and curiosity came together throughout the night in a setting that allowed visitors to discover Barcelona from a completely different perspective. And that is probably what makes La Nuit dels Museus so special. The possibility of entering places that normally go unnoticed and remembering that Barcelona still keeps countless stories hidden beneath its streets.

A very special evening for our team

For the entire team at Gran Hotel Barcino, being part of this edition has been a truly special experience.

Not only because of the warm reception received, but also because of the opportunity to share with visitors and locals a space that connects directly with the origins of the city and that today forms part of the hotel’s identity.
